Hey gang,

Post your characters here. If you're using an existing character, feel free to make any revisions you deem appropriate. For those who aren't familiar with the Fate character creation process, the rulebook is available for free on the official Fate website.

If you have a question or need a ruling, don't hesitate to ask.

Some more important notes.

For anyone using a player-character from Urban Arcana Pt. I, you may build him as a 7-phase character in your Fate conversion. Please describe what he has been doing since then. For your reference, Part I would have begun late in the winter (Feb/Mar) of 2010, and Part II begins roughly a year later.

The following is a fairly short questionnaire for new PC's. The answers can be listed with your character sheet, PM'ed to me, or used as a framework for a backstory write-up. However you choose to answer them, these questions are important to how I present the plot to your characters, so please do actually answer them.

1. How long has the character been in the mundane world?
2. What was the character's life like in the old world? How does it compare with his life now?
3. How does the character relate to Shadowborn society? To mundane society?
4. Why is this character in New York? What ties does he have?
5. What are the character's goals and desires?
6. Where would this character be found on a Monday morning?

As I mentioned before, once everyone's character is posted, we can begin playing.

Tobin: A Gothiath Fighter, currently working with Pearson and Grey as an investigator. His skills have proven useful to P&G both due to his personal experience with Shadowborn monsters, as well as being able to hold his own in some of the more dangerous cases.

Stats:
4. Melee
3. Climbing, Brawling, Running
2. Endurance, Dungeoneer, Spot, Firearms
1. Jumping, Riding, Intimidate, Charm, First Aid, Spot, Investigation

Aspects: Tough*2, Protective, Big Mouth, Dragonbane, Dumb Luck, Big

Possessions: Apartment above a Chinese restaurant with basic furnishings, Axe, Gold Plated Desert, Enchanted Polearm, Desk, Lava Lamp, New York Giants Jersy, Cell Phone, Clothing. Plate Armor Chest and Paldrons.

1. However long it's been in-game.
2. Tobin was a traveling adventurer, traveling realms and slaying monsters. He has gradually been adapting to life in New York, but is still trying to get a permit to use his ax for work purposes. In the meantime, he has managed to aquire some basic skill in firearms, as well as investigation to help with his job at Pearson & Grey. He typically tries to get assigned to cases that might involve fighting big and/or unusual things.
3. He is viewed as a folk hero among some of the shadowborn populace, and may occasionally get strange stares and glances from mundane humans. For the most part, though, due to his friendly demeanor and lack of supernatural capabilities, he is largely accepted by the mundane society.
4. Tobin is in New York, largely because that is where he first appeared, and that is where his current social circles reside.
5. His goal is largely, simply to do good work, and make a decent living while doin it.
6. At the Pearson & Grey offices, or out on the job with one of his coworkers.

Honestly, I'm finding it hard to figure out what to do with Joe. It might be better to simply develop Fizban as a standalone character, or Just play only Tobin.

Durgunikk Gripegut "Durg"
Goblin, Male, 25 years old
Theme Song: The Farewell Blues ~ The Seatbelts

Description:
Durg is surprisingly clean and well dressed for a Goblin, which surprises many people who don't know him. As usual he has dark black hair and green skin, a long, hooked nose, long, pointy ears, and long, thin fingers ending with dark nails. His teeth are sharp but evenly spaced, and his black eyes are clear and not clouded as many drug addicted Goblins' are. He carries himself upright at all times with the exception of when he is at his workbench. When he is excited he licks his lips with his pointy dark tongue, a habit many find disturbing.

Aspects:
Curious ( )
Ostracized ( )
Magical Talent ( ) ( )
Spiffy Businessman ( )
Enchanter ( )

Skills:
+3 Spellcraft: Conjuration, Spellcraft: Alteration
+2 Rogue, Channeling, Spellcraft: Abjuration, Lore: Magical Artifacts
+1 Sneak, Arcane Languages, Charm, Spot, Awareness, Appraisal, Lore: Runes, Sigils & Glyphs, Streetwise, Barter, Research

Inventory:
Outfit:
-Black Derby Hat -Embroidered Plum 3-Button Vest -Grey Ascot -Fine, Cream, Cotton Dress Shirt -Striped Grey-Silver Pants -Glossy Black Dress Shoes w/ Silver Buckles
Gear:
-Silver Pocket-Watch, w/ 17 Jewel Movement -Obsidian Ascot Pin -Silver and Ebony Ring -Enchanted Sword-Cane -Black Leather Book-Bag, Lead Lined -Carved Wooden Wand made of Honey Locust -Carved Jade Netsuke -Remmington Derringer Over-Under Pistol, for .38 Special
Tomes:
-The Scroll of Earth -Jaest's Journal
Miscellanea:
-Common Clothing (Casual Slacks, Polo Shirts, Loafers, Scarves, Sweaters) -Black Umbrella -Box of 6 Cigars -Shoe Polish w/ Brush & Cleaner -Jewelery Cleaner
-Magnifying Instruments -GPS Transponder Chip and Tracker -Parabolic Dish Mic -Handloading Equipment (Press, Die, Shellholder, Scale, Priming Tool, Powder Measure, Bullet Puller, Black Powder, Primer, Wadding) -Small, Sparsely Appointed Basement Suite, Hoboken

1. Durg has been in the mundane world all his life, and from what he's heard of the shadow world(s) he wouldn't like much to visit one.
2. His life is quite pleasant now, he has had many opportunities that he would never had in a shadow world, like learning magic. He is different in mind and outlook from most goblins, he doubts that he would have survived long elsewhere.
3. Obviously Durg cannot blend perfectly into mundy society, the stereotypes that follow goblins have been quickly adopted by native terrans. But he doesn't fit well into his 'traditional' culture either. So he strikes a happy balance, associating with those who will look beyond race from either side, though he prefers the company of open-minded individuals as opposed to apathetic ones.
4. Durg is in New York because it is a happening place in the Shadowborn world. He is not too openly ostracized there, and he has access to his favorite obsession: Magical Artifacts, through his plum job at ....
5. He wants most of all to gain a high profile in the magical community, in a positive way, he wants respect and acknowledgment. Meeting a nice girl wouldn't be bad either, perhaps a half blood so that their temperaments might match a bit better.
6. Durg can be found most Monday mornings at .... drinking a large coffee while reading the newspaper, waiting for business to pick up.

Okay, it looks like we're about ready to start! I should have the opening scene posted before the weekend is over.

So Greg, you'll just stick with Tobin for now, then?

Name: Alex Kuznetsof

Alex appeared in New York about a year ago, and his adjustment to society has been surprisingly smooth. Sometimes he hides the fact that he's a shadowborn by saying he's a Russian refugee. Recently he's been working for P&G and getting some extra cash in a little guiding business, taking people caving.

He looks rather odd. Maybe like a young Arab with white hair. He speaks fairly well, but a Russian accent pops in at times. He always wears sunglasses.

Aspects:
  • Half-drow
  • Born in Siberia
  • Tinkerer: "If it ain't broke, fix it till it is"
  • ex-KGB (2): Learned how to hide, and found some reasons to need to.
  • Dangerous (2): He's drawn by any challenge that isn't flat out stupid, and even the flat out stupid might be interesting in the right circumstance.

Skills:
  • +3: Sense Motive, Charm, Lie, Forgery
  • +2: Spellcraft (Illusion), Climbing, Awareness, Guns, Hide
  • +1: Infravision, Magic Resistance, Language (Russian), Survival, Endurance, Streetwise

Inventory:
  • Markov-PPM
  • Sunglasses (always worn)
  • Casual clothing
  • Suit & tie
  • Reinforced briefcase with combination lock.
  • 70L backpack, boots, rain gear, wool clothing, headlamp, ice/rock climbing gear, helmet, gloves
  • Bible & religious icons
  • Camera
These he will keep hidden unless absolutely necessary:
  • Russian Passport of Борис Даздрапертрак
  • American Passport of Sergei Tolstoy
  • Magic tomes on Illusion.
  • Emergency money
  • Tiny Recorder
